COST: $1,996 pp based on double occupancy, and includes motorcoach transportation, tour director service, 5 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 4 dinners, visit to Patrick Henry's Scotchtown, guided tour at The Mariners' Museum and Park, a sampling of live performances from the International Tattoo at the Taste 'N See at The Murray Center, admission to the Hullabaloo at the Scope Plaza in Norfolk, premium reserved seating at the International Tattoo, free time at Virginia Beach, guided tour at the Military Aviation Museum, a special flight demonstration at the Navy Hangar (pending weather, aircraft and pilot availability), Mermaids & Margaritas Beach Bash at the Grand Affairs, 2 drink tickets, live music featuring the sounds of Jimmy Buffet, Beach hits and favorite Oldies music, Harbor Cruise aboard the Victory Rover, admission and self-guided visit of the Nauticus and National Maritime Center, visit to the Battleship USS Wisconsin, admission to the Norfolk Botanical Garden, dinner and tasting at the Mermaid Winery, visit to the National Museum of the United States Army, 1 nights' lodging at the Holiday Inn & Suites Richmond West End, 3 nights' lodging at the Hampton Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront South, all taxes, meal and local guide gratuities, and roundtrip luggage service at the Hampton Inn (N/A at the Holiday Inn Richmond).

DAY 1: Saturday, April 24 ... (6 hours travel time)

  • Depart from the Terminal; Available pickups: Mansfield, Blossburg, Liberty, Williamsport
    PLEASE NOTE: The above pickups are available, but you must notify the office of your pickup location. We do not stop at all pickup, unless people are designated to get on at that location.
  • BREAKFAST is included this morning en route.
  • Lunch break en route.
  • This afternoon, we will visit PATRICK HENRY'S SCOTCHTOWN.  It was here at Patrick Henry's Scotchtown that Henry conceived his most influential revolutionary ideas.  Scotchtown is the only original standing home of the Patriot and Orator of the American Revolution; Patrick Henry lived here from 1771-1778.  It was at Scotchtown that he formulated the ideas of his famous "Liberty or Death" speech and it was from the house that he rode to St. John's Church in Richmond on March 23, 1775 to deliver it. 
  • Check into the HOLIDAY INN & SUITES RICHMOND WEST END for the night.  NOTE: Luggage service is not availale at this hotel.
  • Tonight, DINNER is included at MAGGIANO'S LITTLE ITALY.
  • Return to the hotel for a restful evening.

DAY 2: Sunday, April 25

  • BREAKFAST is included at the hotel, before checking out and departing for Newport News, VA.
  • GUIDED TOUR is included at THE MARINERS' MUSEUM AND PARK.  The Museum is filled with fascinating stories, captured in priceless artifacts that celebrate the spirit of the open sea.  Explore small craft from around the world.  Discover intricate ship models and encounter maritime art throughout each of the galleries.
  • Next, arrive at TASTE 'N SEE AT THE MURRAY CENTER for a LUNCH BUFFET.  Take in a SAMPLE OF LIVE PERFORMANCES from the INTERNATIONAL TATTOO as you enjoy this special luncheon!
  • After a short walk, arrive at the SCOPE ARENA to check in for the VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL TATTOO.  Enjoy HULLABALOO as you make your way into the Arena.  Expect performances by international military bands, dancers, drill teams and some favorite local dancers and musicians.  The Hullabaloo is a perfect opportunity to shake hands with an active-duty member of armed forces and take a selfie with a highland dancer.
  • Then it's time to take your PREMIUM RESERVED SEATS for the INTERNATIONAL TATTOO PERFORMANCE.  This is a spectacle of military splendor - part parade, part theater, and sometimes, part circus!  Tattoo features bands and military drill teams and more.  The performance will last about two hours, with no intermission.
  • Depart for Virginia Beach, where we will check in to the HAMPTON INN OCEANFRONT SOUTH, your home for the next 3 nights.  LUGGAGE SERVICE is included as well.
  • This evening is at your leisure to enjoy the VIRGINIA BEACH BOARDWALK and dinner on your own.  Your hotel is located within walking distance to many restaurants, art, museums, historic sites and events.  The popular 24-foot, 12-ton KING NEPTUNE STATUE stands on 31st Street, while colorful fish scultpures are scattered about, and other nautical art works adorn side streets. If art isn't your forte, you can visit a video arcade, ride on a Ferris wheel at the Fun Park, or check out any number of live entertainment stages throughout the busy season.

DAY 3: Monday, April 26

  • BREAKFAST is included at the hotel.
  • Following breakfast, depart for the MILITARY AVIATION MUSEUM.  Take a trip back in time when the aircraft were spectacular and learn why our heroes never let us down.  See one of the largest collections of flying WWII military aircraft in the world and hear stories of contributions made by the men and women of aviation to our country.
  • Enjoy an ALL-AMERICAN BOXED LUNCH from MISSION BBQ in the Navy Hangar with LIVE ENTERTAINMENT.
  • Then you are in for a treat with a special FLIGHT DEMONSTRATION after lunch in this special one day only event!  (NOTE: the museum's flight demonstration is contingent upon runway and weather conditions, and aircraft and pilot availability.)  
  • Return to the hotel to get ready and freshen up for our tonight's event - the MERMAID BEACH BASH!
  •  At 6 pm, we will arrive at GRAND AFFAIRS for DINNER and the MERMAIDS & MARGARITAS BEACH BASH!  Enjoy a nautical-themed MERMAID WELCOME RECEPTION, with cash bar available throughout the evening. TWO DRINK TICKETS are included to use towards Margaritas, house wine or beer, or house mixed drinks.  Enjoy HORS D'OEUVRES served with white gloves.
  • From 8-9:30 pm, dance the night away with LIVE MUSIC featuring the sounds of JIMMY BUFFET, BEACH HITS and FAVORITE OLDIES MUSIC!  Get ready to soak up the sunshine vibes and good times!  Join us for an unforgettable event featuring live music inspired by the laid-back sounds of Jimmy Buffet and other iconic harmonies such as The Beach Boys.  From tropical tunes to classic surf hits, this high-energy performance will have you dancing singing along, and feeling like you are on a beachside getaway.
  • Return back to the hotel about 10 pm, after a fun-filled day!

DAY 4: Tuesday, April 27

  • BREAKFAST is included at the hotel.
  • Depart for Norfolk, VA to board the VICTORY ROVER for a HARBOR CRUISE. Cruise the smooth waters of the ELIZABETH RIVER, one of the world's busiest seaports including the world's largest naval base, home of the Atlantic Fleet.  This is made up of destroyers, guided missile cruisers, submarines, aircraft carriers and more.  You will enjoy plenty of comfortable seating, an air-conditioned enclosed deck, an open-air shaded upper deck, snack bar, and souvenirs.
  • Next, ADMISSION is included to tour the NAUTICUS and the NATIONAL MARITIME CENTER, and exciting science and technology center exploring the power of the sea.  This high-tech, virtual reality "museum" allows visitors to explore the rich life of the ocean realm, human uses of the sea through shipping and the role the port of Hampton Roads has played in world maritime affairs.
    • While here, you can also visit the BATTLESHIP USS WISCONSIN, one of the largest Battleships ever built.  This mighty ship was used during the Korean Conflict and the Gulf War.
    • Lunch on your own here at their Cafe.
  • This afternoon, we will visit the beautifl NORFOLK BOTANICAL GARDENS.  This is nationally-recognized for its deep-rooted history and celebrated for its blooms in every season.  The 175-acre garden is home to more than 60 distinctive-themed gardens, 95 species of birds and 30 kinds of butterflies. 
  • We will return back to the hotel for some time to freshen up before dinner.
  • DINNER AND TASTING is included tonight at the MERMAID WINERY.  This is a casual restaurant and wine bar showcasing a variety of wines from around the world.
  • Return to the hotel about 9 pm, for our final night of the trip.

DAY 5: Wednesday, April 28 (8 1/2 hours travel)

  • BREAKFAST is included at the hotel.
  • Check out and depart from Virginia Beach, towards home.
  • At 12 pm, we will arrive at the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY.  The Museum celebrates over 240 years of Army history and honors our nation's Soldiers - past, present, and future - regular Army, Army Reserves, and the Army National Guard.  It provides the only comprehensive portrayal of Army history and traditions and offers educational experiences to illustrate the Army's role in building and defending our nation, as well as humanitarian missions, public contributions, and technological and medical breakthroughs.
    • A BOXED LUNCH is included on arrival.
  • We will depart at 2:30 pm, to continue towards home with a FAREWELL DINNER included at a popular restaurant.
  • Return to Wellsboro at approximately 9:30 pm, with wonderful memories of your vacation getaway!
