Benedict's Bus Service - Family Owned and Operated Since 1914!

Benedict's Bus Service has been a family-owned transportation company since 1964. We offer day trips and multi-day trips throughout the year, to many various locations, both near and far. We pride ourselves on providing the best customer service we can and offering fun, exciting group tours!

Maria Frank, Co-owner, Dispatcher, Driver and Tammy Mengee, Co-Owner, Travel Coordinator are now the fourth generation of the Benedict family to own and operate Benedict's Bus Service. Bussing started with a horse drawn school bus by their great-grandfather, Floyd Benedict in 1914. In 1964, their grandfather, Byron started a school bus business along with Benedict’s Ford. Their dad and mom, Bob and Cynthia Benedict, took over the business in 1977 and eventually added coach buses and vans. Now Tammy and Maria own two companies as well as a cooking school, Benedict’s Bus Service, Benedict’s and Rookie Cooks Academy.

The Pandemic shut down the bus industry with no warning and quickly turned into a very difficult situation. Trips were cancelled, attractions were closed and there were zero buses out on the road. In that time, Rookie Cooks Academy was born; small group cooking classes with personal, custom designed culinary stations. All cooking classes are held right in downtown Wellsboro at 68 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA 16901. Rookie Cooks Academy was a saving grace during a difficult time. Please join us in the future for a class, or schedule a private group and create a moment in time where memories can be created and shared!
