DAY 1: Sunday, August 1 

• Depart from the Terminal - Available pickups: Mansfield, Lawrenceville, Big Flats, Sayre
  PLEASE NOTE: The above pickups are available, but you must call to confirm. We do not stop at all pickup locations, unless people are designated to get on at the pickup locations.
• BREAKFAST is included this morning at Cracker Barrel in Binghamton.
• Lunch and rest breaks will be made as needed, as we make our way to Maine.
• Upon arrival to Portland, Maine's largest city-by-the-sea, we will check in to the DOUBLETREE HOTEL in South Portland.  This is located 5 miles from Portland's Old Port and across the street from Maine's largest mall with shops. 
• DINNER is included at the hotel this evening.

DAY 2: Monday, August 2

• BREAKFAST is included at the hotel, before checking out and departing.
• Depart to meet our LOCAL GUIDE for a NARRATED TOUR OF PORTLAND.  You'll see views of Longfellow's boyhood home, sea captain houses and the elegant Victoria Mansion as you drive through historic neighborhoods overlooking the islands of CASCO BAY in PORTLAND HARBOR.  Your tour includes PHOTO STOPS at PORTLAND HEAD LIGHT, OWL HEAD and BUG LIGHT. 
• Enjoy lunch on your own along cobblestone streets in Portland's historic waterfront district, the OLD PORT EXCHANGE.  Here you can enjoy views of Casco Bay while enjoying a quick lunch, or browse through the quaint shops selling crafts, antiques, and Maine-made products.
• Next, it is time to board the boat for a NARRATED PORTLAND HARBOR CRUISE.  Pass through the Calendar Islands of Casco Bay and past several lighthouses.  You're likely to spot a HARBOR SEAL as well as hear the MARITIME HISTORY of Maine's largest seaport.
• DINNER is incuded this evening at a local, favorite restaurant.
• We will continue to make our way to the FISHERMAN'S WHARF INN, located in the center of downtown Boothbay Harbor right on the harbor for a TWO-NIGHT STAY. Enjoy the magnificent views relaxing in the waterfront restaurant, lounge or from your balcony or deck.  The hotel is within walking distance of the waterfront activities, quaint shops and the charming footbridge that spans the harbor. 

DAY 3: Tuesday, August 3

• BREAKFAST is included at the hotel this morning.
• This morning, we will board the boat for a SCENIC BOOTHBAY PUFFIN CRUISE.  See firsthand the National Audubon Society's success in reestablishing a puffin colony on EASTERN EGG ROCK. Truly a magnificent "Seafari" for all nature lovers with seals, blue heron, an occasional whale and other coastal wildlife along the way.  The cruise is narrated by the NATIONAL AUDUBON'S PUFFIN PROJECT so you get the history of the Puffins and the Eastern Egg Rock restoration direct from people involved with the project.  You will also pass by 3 LIGHTHOUSES (Ram, Burnt, and Pemaquid Point), see many islands, coastline, Fisherman's Island, Ocean Point, Spruce Point, Tumbler Island, White Islands, and much more!
• Following the cruise, enjoy some FREE TIME to explore BOOTHBAY HARBOR at your leisure and have lunch on your own.  You can stroll along the wharves, explore the quaint shops and art galleries, enjoy homemade ice cream or saltwater taffy.  Or, maybe you prefer to just relax on the benches overlooking the water.
• Then you are off to the COASTAL MAINE BOTANICAL GARDENS.  Here, the Maine woods meet the wetlands, and shoreline with a variety of special theme gardens such as the 5-Senses Garden and the Children's Garden.  Your GUIDED TOUR is approximately 1 HOUR, followed by free time to explore the impressive gardens and shoreline paths at your own pace.
• Tonight, enjoy a LOBSTERBAKE DINNER with ALL THE FIXINGS at NEWAGEN SEASIDE INN.  This is a traditional oceanfront inn on Southport Island, just a short drive from downtown Boothbay.
  

DAY 3: Wednesday, August 4

• After your included BREAKFAST, we will make our way north along the coast, exploring villages on your way "downeast."
• Our first stop is for bargain souvenirs at the MAINE STATE PRISON SHOWROOM - a landmark gift shop where the inmates make unique Maine gifts.
• Next, we will make our way north to ROCKLAND, the LOBSTER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!  ADMISSION is included to THE MAINE LOBSTER FESTIVAL along the Rockland Harbor front - where lobster is king!  Festivities include music, fine arts, crafts and entertainment.  Of course, you should check out the Seafood Tent, where you can feast on hot Maine lobster and other Maine delicacies such as blueberry pie, fried clams, shrimp cocktail, and steamed mussels!  At last year's festival, nearly 20,000 pounds of lobster were prepared in the world's largest lobster cooker.  You will have time for lunch on your own at the festival. 
• While in Rockland, you may want to visit the MAINE LIGHTHOUSE MUSEUM on your own.  It houses a unique collection of historic artifacts of the US Coast Guard and local lighthouse culture.  See the Rockland Harbor Lighthouse guarding the harbor entrance from here.  There will be docents in each area of the museum.
• After lunch, meet your LOCAL GUIDE for a NARRATED TOUR OF CAMDEN AND ROCKPORT.  Your tour includes a PHOTO STOP ATOP MT. BATTIE in CAMDEN HILLS STATE PARK - where the mountains meet the sea.  You will see the towns made famous by the movie Peyton Place, a seal named Andre, and poet Edna St. Vincent Millay.  
• You will say goodbye to your guide after leaving the park and continue north to Bar Harbor.
• Cross the causeway onto MT. DESERT ISLAND and check in to the ATLANTIC OCEANSIDE RESORT, a beautiful resort hotel overlooking scenic Frenchman's Bay for TWO NIGHTS.  The hotel is located one mile from downtown and features guest rooms with water views and private balconies or patios, indoor and outdoor pools and Jacuzzi. 
• DINNER is included this evening.

DAY 5: Thursday, August 5

• BREAKFAST is included at the hotel this morning, before boarding the boat.
• This morning, we will meet our LOCAL GUIDE for a GUIDED TOUR OF BAR HARBOR and ACADIA NATIONAL PARK.  Bar Harbor has been celebrated for its breathtaking beauty ever since the island was discovered in 1604 by Samuel de Champlain, who named it "Isle de Monts Desert" (Mt. Desert Island) for its bare, desert-like mountaintops.  Here in the first park east of the Mississippi, you'll see tremendous coastline views that have attracted the elite to this area for years and hear stories of the Victorian "rusticators," more recent visitors and famous residents.  Highlights of this tour include the stunning LOOP ROAD, the SUMMIT OF CADILLAC MOUNTAIN, the crashing waves of THUNDER HOLE and the quiet beauty of the inland park scenery.
• This afternoon, you will take an ACADIAN NATURE CRUISE to search for eagles, porpoises, seals and other marine mammals and birds on this sightseeing cruise on FRENCHMAN'S BAY.  We will pass by EGG ROCK LIGHTHOUSE and the breathtaking scenery of coastal Maine and Acadia National Park aboard the Acadian.  A BOX LUNCH will be included to enjoy on the cruise.
• Enjoy some FREE TIME in BAR HARBOR to explore the shops and boutiques that are centrally-located along the waterfront, along with parks and a shoreline walking trail.
• An early LOBSTER-CHOICE DINNER is included at a local favorite!
• Next, you'll be treated to unique Maine entertainment at the GREAT MAINE LUMBERJACK SHOW.  See "the Olympics of the Forest" re-enacted as the lumberjacks and loggers used to compete 100 years ago.  You will hear the big crosscut saws singing in the forest, just as you would have heard in a logging camp competition in the Maine woods....and you will watch the thrilling lumberjack sports of wood chopping and sawing, tree climbing, axe throwing, and everyone's favorite - log rolling - all exhibited with a modern twist, mixed with history, comedy, and lots of non-stop, razor-sharp action!  
  

DAY 6: Friday, August 6

• BREAKFAST is included at the hotel, before checking out and traveling south to Kennebunkport.
• Upon arrival, we will meet our LOCAL GUIDE for a NARRATED TOUR OF KENNEBUNKPORT and KENNEBUNK, two shipbuilding villages on Maine's south coast.  Hear the history and folklore as we drive past the beaches, hear the legend of the WEDDING CAKE HOUSE and maritime history of sea captains and shipbuilders.  We will travel through the port and along OCEAN AVENUE, past the BUSH SUMMER HOME at Walker's Point.
• Enjoy some FREE TIME for shopping and lunch on your own in DOCK SQUARE in KENNEBUNKPORT.   
• Travel to OGUNQUIT where we will check into the MEADOWMERE RESORT.  Enjoy a WELCOME RECEPTION on arrival.  This Resort features an INDOOR POOL, JACUZZI and in-house MOVIE THEATER.
• On our way to dinner, we will travel to YORK for a PHOTO OP of Maine's southernmost lighthouse, the NUBBLE LIGHT in CAPE NEDDICK near York Beach.  From Nubble Light, you will also spot the infamous BOON ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE, located just off-shore.
• And finally, it's time for another INCLUDED DINNER at a local favorite. 
• Return to the hotel to enjoy the amenities, and a restful evening.

DAY 7: Saturday, August 7

• BREAKFAST included this morning at JONATHAN'S RESTAURANT, located next to the hotel. 
• Enjoy FREE TIME to explore OGUNQUIT on your own.  You can also access the MARGINAL WAY shoreline walking path with benches and scenic overlooks as well.
• Next, we will stop for shopping on your own at STONEWALL KITCHENS, manufacturers of Maine-made specialty condiments, jams and vinegars.  It is named for the graceful stone walls that surrounded the original farm where the business began.  Lunch is on your own at their Cafe.
• Depart from Maine, to travel home with a FAREWELL DINNER included en route. 
• Return to Benedict's Terminal, with wonderful memories of your Coastal Maine Tour!
