Monday, September 21: Wellsboro, PA - Beckley, WV

  • Depart from the Terminal  
    Available pickups: Mansfield, Blossburg, Liberty, Williamsport
    PLEASE NOTE: The above pickups are available, but you must call to confirm. We do not stop at all pickup locations, unless people are designated to get on at the pickup locations.
  • FULL BREAKFAST is included en route.
  • Our first stop in West Virginia will be a visit to the CANYON RIM VISITOR CENTER, where you will see the awe-inspiring majesty of the NEW RIVER GORGE and its iconic bridge.  Take in panoramic views from the viewing platform and marvel at the engineering marvel.  The New River Gorge Bridge spans 3,030 feet of steel and weighing a staggering 88 million pounds.
  • Lunch will be on your own at TAMARACK - "The Best of West Virginia." You can't visit Beckley without a SHOP STOP at Tamarack, browsing the shops and galleries.  This is a one-of-a-kind experience, with over 20,000 products, from jewelry to sculptures.  Every item sold in Tamarack is chosen through a jury selection process to ensure quality and authenticity.  All items are made or created by West Virginia artists and craftsmen.   
  • This afternoon, you will experience the sights and sounds of mining life aboard a 'MAN CAR' at the BECKLEY EXHIBITION COAL MINE. A veteran miner will guide us through the tunnels of a once-operational coal mine. Then, step back in time at the COAL CAMP, where restored buildings offer a glimpse into the daily lives of miners and their families.
  • Check in to the FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES BECKLEY for a ONE NIGHT STAYLUGGAGE SERVICE is included as well.
  • Tonight, indulge in the flavors of Italy at PASQUALE'S MIRA ITALIAN RESTAURANT.  This DINNER BUFFET features delectable dishes and a warm ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.  

Tuesday, September 22: Beckley, WV - White Sulphur Springs, WV - Elkins, WV

  • Check out and depart for White Sulphur Springs, WV
  • On arrival to the beautiful GREENBRIER RESORT, we will be taken on an unforgettable 90-MINUTE PRIVATE BUNKER TOUR.  In 1958, Congress instructed The Greenbrier to build their West Virginia Wing to conceal the construction of an emergency Cold War fallout shelter and relocation facility for Congress.  Once veiled in secrecy, The Greenbrier bunker stands today as a captivating historical landmark, inviting guests to embark on this journey through its corridors and chambers. Today, it has been featured on NBC, FOX, Discovery Channel, History Channel, VICE, ABC, and other top publications from around the world.  
  • LUNCH is included at SAM SNEAD'S, located at the Greenbrier.  With stunning views of the golf course, Sam Snead's at The Golf Club offers a menu featuring wood-fired favorites. Its decor and ambiance reflect the pivotal role that Sam Snead - their first golf professional - played in The Greenbrier's illustrious golf history.  This relaxed but lively atmosphere is every bit as entertaining as its legendary namesake, with an open kitchen where you can watch chefs working in their element. 
  • Depart for Elkins, where you will check in to the HAMPTON INN for a TWO NIGHT STAYLUGGAGE SERVICE is included as well.
  • Tonight, you are in for a treat with DINNER & ENTERTAINMENT at the GANDY DANCER THEATRE.  In a beautiful new dining room, you will enjoy a great meal, followed by a musical variety show that is filled with high-energy, family-friendly comedy and music.  It's an unforgettable evening at West Virginia's hottest theatre!

Wednesday, September 23: Elkins, WV - Cass, WV - Elkins, WV

  • BREAKFAST is included at the hotel.
  • After breakfast, we will depart for Cass, WV
  • It's "ALL ABOARD" the CASS SCENIC RAILROAD, for a wilderness excursion exploring the most remote areas of the Mountain State.  Some of these areas are so remote that even automobiles cannot access!  Take in the sights of West Virginia's most pristine rivers and enjoy the mountain top views.  A BOXED LUNCH is included on the train as well.
  • Tonight, DINNER is included at CJ MAGGIE'S, a local favorite restaurant.


Thursday, September 24: Elkins, WV - Wellsboro, PA

  • BREAKFAST is included at the hotel.
  • Check out and depart from the hotel
  • This morning, ADMISSION is included to explore the WEST VIRGINIA RAILROAD MUSEUM.  This Museum is located in the historic Darden Mill in Elkins, WV - a city that was built by the railroads. This is a cultural resource dedicated to educating visitors and the community about West Virginia's railroad history.  In addition to static exhibits, select pieces of equipment in the collection are restored and operated throughout the year to demonstrate steam, gasoline, and diesel technology and provide you with a first-hand experience of the railroad history through the sights, sounds, and sensations of a train ride.
  • At 11 am, it's "ALL ABOARD" the NEW TYGART FLYER for a 4-HOUR EXCURSION.  This wilderness excursion features mountain grades, an "S" curve tunnel, high bridge and miles of unspoiled mountain views.  The 4-hour, 46 mile trip departs from the restored Elkins depot.  The trip culminates at the High Falls of Cheat, an 18 foot high, 150 feet wide waterfall, located in one of the most remote and pristine settings in the region.
  • On the trip to the falls, enjoy an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT SANDWICH BUFFET LUNCH, consisting of turkey, roast beef and ham, swiss and American cheeses, lettuce, onion, pickles, condiments, pasta salad, fruit cup, and potato chips.  Drink options are iced tea, water, lemonade and coffee.
  • Depart from Elkins, WV with a dinner break en route home.
  • Return to Terminal, with wonderful memories of your West Virginia vacation!
