Saturday, August 16

  • Depart from the Terminal with available pickups: Mansfield, Lawrenceville, Corning, Horseheads, Sayre. Please note: the pickups listed are all available, but you must confirm your pickup when making your booking. We do not stop at all locations, unless their are people assigned to the stops.
  • BREAKFAST is included this morning.
  • Lunch and rest breaks en route.
  • Welcome to MASSACHUSETTS for the night. Your first stop will be for an AUTHENTIC NEW ENGLAND DINNER served in a colonial setting in SPRINGFIELD, MA at the STORROWTON TAVERN. This building is a landmark restaurant located on the grounds of the Eastern States Exposition, operated by the Calvanese Family. With over 45 years of experience in the hospitality industry, they treat visitors as company and valued friends. Enjoy traditional New England & continental cuisine in an elegant and historic setting, while dining in one of five unique dining rooms furnished with period antiques and family heirlooms.
  • Next you will head a short distance to the HAMPTON INN CHICOPEE/SPRINGFIELD for your 1-NIGHT STAY.

Sunday, August 17

  • Enjoy BREAKFAST at the hotel this morning before traveling north to Maine!
  • Your first stop will be FREE TIME to shop and grab lunch on own at FREEPORT VILLAGE, home of sporting goods king, L.L. Bean and numerous outlet shops and restaurants.
  • Next, you’ll follow the scenic backroads toward the Maine coast! Your next stop is the MAINE WILDLIFE PARK to view native moose, deer, bald eagles, beaver and bears.
  • This afternoon, you’ll travel to the Mountain Region of Maine. Check in to the SUNDAY RIVER RESORT for your 3-NIGHT STAY on the outskirts of Bethel, in Maine’s western mountains. Your WELCOME RECEPTION will be served around the giant lobby fireplace. The hotel features a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool, giant fireplaced lobby, beautiful walking trails and lounge.
  • DINNER is included tonight followed by a crackling CAMPFIRE with S'MORES at the hotel.

Monday, August 18

  • BREAKFAST is included at the hotel this morning.
  • Try your hand at a MINERAL and GEMSTONE SLUICING PROGRAM. Learn about the gemstones, including MAINE TOURMALINE, commonly found in this area. Don an apron and a bucket for this hands-on program, where you can keep any treasures, you find!
  • Next, you’ll visit MAINE BALSAM FIR PRODUCTS, a small company that hand-makes balsam-filled pillows and products. Enjoy the natural and healthy fragrance of balsam as you learn how the owners started their company, how the pandemic affected their business and where they are today. You’ll walk along their property to the balsam fir grove; see how they continue to make balsam pillows and other products.
  • Lunch will be on your own today.
  • Return to the hotel to freshen up for your afternoon activity then meet your LOCAL GUIDE for a TWO-HOUR MOOSE WATCHING TOUR at GRAFTON NOTCH STATE PARK. Stop for photos at mountain overlooks and the local Artist’s Covered Bridge and locations most likely to spot a "gentle giant".
  • Return to the hotel. DINNER is included this evening.

Tuesday, August 19

  • BREAKFAST is included at the hotel this morning.
  • Your first stop is to the COOS CANYON ROCK & GIFT STORE. Take in the scenery at Coos Canyon, a roadside park carved out of the Swift River. Erosion has chiseled steep cliffs on both sides of the river making for a beautiful view of the falls. 
  • Next stop is HEIGHT OF THE LAND, one of Rangeley Lakes region's most scenic overlooks.
  • Travel a short distance to OQUOSSOC for lunch on your own.  
  • This afternoon, enjoy  a GUIDED TOUR of the OUTDOOR HERITAGE MUSEUM. Learn about the wooden boats and steamers that travelled the lake and the hunters, fishermen and Native Americans who have flocked to the beautiful Lakes region for centuries.
  • Visit the MAINE FORESTRY MUSEUM  in RANGELEY, dedicated to the celebration of the lumbering heritage of the Western Maine Mountains. Enjoy a GUIDED TOUR with fascinating stories of how the lumbermen made their living and the saws and equipment they used. You'll also see a lumberman art collection and a bunkhouse.
  • DINNER is included at the RANGELEY INN this evening before meeting your MOOSE GUIDE for a TOUR of RANGELEY to the most likely sites for spotting "the gentle giants."
  • Return to the hotel for the evening.

Wednesday, August 20

  • BREAKFAST is included at the hotel this morning.
  • Make a stop at MAINE LINE PRODUCTS to shop for Maine souvenirs, sample homemade fudge, and see the mechanical man, Woody the Woodworker. A special WOODWORKING DEMONSTRATION is included on how the specialty gift crates are manufactured here.
  • Next, you’ll travel South to York to enjoy FREE TIME to shop and grab lunch on your own at STONEWALL KITCHENS, manufacturers of Maine-made specialty condiments, jams and vinegars. Named for the graceful stonewalls that surrounded the original farm where the business began.
  • Head back to Massachusetts for your final night. DINNER is included along the way at the SALEM CROSS INN, an historic inn built in 1705. Experience their Yankee hospitality amid fieldstone fireplaces, chestnut ceiling beams and extensive American antique furnishings. You'll be treated to an hearth-cooked meal and a colonial-style seasonal dessert.
  • Check in to the HAMPTON INN CHICOPEE/SPRINGFIELD for your 1-NIGHT STAY.

Thursday, August 21

  • BREAKFAST is included at the hotel this morning
  • Check out and depart your hotel. A FAREWELL LUNCH is included en route.
